Hi, I'm Jen!
I am an attorney by training and have spent most of my career in public service. When I started learning more about real estate investing a few years ago, I was incredibly excited to discover this (small d) democratic playing field in which ordinary people can build extraordinary businesses buying and selling property. I was also incredibly disappointed to confront that real estate investing has a dark side.
I wanted to keep pursuing real estate investing but I needed to be able to reconcile it with my deeply held beliefs, including that being in the business of providing housing for people is a responsibility and not a right. I want to find other investors like me, who value and enjoy doing good for others as much as doing well for themselves.
Better World Real Estate is a platform to amplify and
connect innovative investors with lawful and ethical practices,
whose investments tangibly improve communities, target underserved populations, and solve difficult problems – all while staying profitable.
Through my newsletter and social media, I will shine a light on good things happening in the world of real estate investing. I will also explore the ethical challenges that can come up for investors and offer support for navigating these issues with purpose and clarity.
Down the road, I want to create and manage a fund that invests in mission-driven projects while providing solid returns to investors.
